radar dog - 100 paintings in 100 days

i really love my new iphone! this dog was snapped by a friend of mine whom i asked to promptly forward it on to me... he's so cute! in an ugly kinda way... but he's so cute!

so, this drawing is titled, "radar dog" because of his goofy looking ears (i wonder what he would say about mine???)

the picasso goat - 100 drawings in 100 days

i was feeling a little flat about the my drawing commit -ment yesterday, and was having difficulty finding something to draw... when i remembered that i took a bunch of photos on my iphone at the glasshouse mountains when i was there with my mom on monday.

and there were the cutest little goats in this yard along the way, so i stopped and took a few pics of them. they were actually quite comical-looking! this drawing is quite simply titled "picasso goat" because his face had that cubist-type appearance when i finished drawing him...

so, here's to artists' block being un-blocked by a quick photograph taken on a phone! and here's to phones having built-in cameras these days!

the crows on doggett and sydney streets - 100 drawings in 100 days

yesterday, i was thinking about my daily drawing, when i remembered that once in my life, i had witnessed a crow burial in the park in oklahoma city. i had no idea what was going on, so i watched, and as i did, something beautiful unfolded before my eyes: the death ceremony of the crows. it was absolutely astonishing! i went home immediately and googled it, read about it, and found that what i had witnessed was indeed true.
how very clever and intelligent those birds are! so, they have been a constant muse for me ever since. and yesterday was no exception. clockwise from the top, (i have always wanted to say that in print, even though it doesn't really apply here as there are only two images, i get to say it!) i have drawn "the crow on doggett street", and "the crow on sydney street".
so, here's to the glorious crow, may they be forever beautiful.

100 drawings - road trip with mom at the coast

yesterday, (monday the 28th july) was my only day off this week, and i spent it with my mom on the sunshine coast.

we had a little time to kill, so we took off in her 4WD and drove around through some of the roads less travelled near the glasshouse mountains. i got some spectacular shots of each one of the mountains with my new iphone, but this one particularly caught my eye!

"mountainside fruit stand" was just as rustic and honest as you can get! based on the honor-system, whereby you leave your money in the box provided, you take whatever you need. i just love it, and this one was a pick-up truck cut in half and made into a trailer! very cool.

so i have a couple of days catch-up to play, so tonight i will be busy doing that. promise.

so, how do you feel since reading this blog?
